Underground or mainstream or both?

Underground or Indie Media: 

I think that Watchmen is more underground than indie because superheroes are extraordinary. And comic books are not commonly read now days. Watchmen is the first comic book I read there before I think that comic books are not nearly read as books.  


Reading Watchmen has been quite an adventure because as I read I think that I'm understanding the concept and following through the idea but at the same time it troughs me off the scenario, and I think it was because this comic book has a lot of suspense as it goes because as I read I appoint missing heroes that all of the sudden where in the plot then I would not known of them till the end. On another point of view I think is mainstream as the story plot has a lot of biased in it. Watchmen is a good comic book as underground and mainstream because chapter after chapter it would leave me with the "what is going to happen next?" So it was crazy the fact that I just wanted to keep reading to find the answer to my question. A good lenses that I can relate this comic book to is "gender inequality" because there's only one woman super hero. Where does that leave the woman in society and the particular idea of the persons in the story and all the feminist in society. Interesting would it be because Alan Moore wrote it and not a women or would he think as a "macho" role that only men are able to do more? 

Watchmen 

Watchmen hmm interesting i should said; I had never read nor been interested in comics. I can't believe I'm so interested about learning from it and continue reading it. For me the reading is actually different than other books; the reading is actually easy for me to understand because it has a lot of abbreviations and most vocabulary is K-12  I think and on the other side abbreviations is the way I text message so it actually makes my reading easier. Which I then come to the conclusion that this book actually interacts we lenses that we have discus in class. On the other side I think that the genre is actually hard to choice and controversial because it has a lot of thriller in it; is comic and sci-fi because it's a novel base and there is also to many heroes, and artistry. This then comes to my conclusion that this comic is actually like many other book because as usual we have good heroes and bad heroes which are the enemies, or the bad guy but I feel that Watchmen is has is unique differences from other comics which is the reason that I can't wait to finish reading it.  From my conclusion of the first chapter I think that the heroes in Watchmen are very unique because they fulfill themselves as they want to and how they want to help others and are not controlled. From what I have research Watchmen is talked all over the US as a novel from when it first came out and this represents the comic is better, political and cultural in the historical movement. 

 

Government Shutdown

In my opinion I think this shutdown is a super mess because of a decision the government couldn't get together; I don't see a solution to people like us at least for now. Everyone that works for such government of any kind can't go to work, because of the irrational president. I don't think there's a solution for us because if the government has such problems because of the Obama Care then why don't they just make some arrangements and not just shutdown because of rich insidious people. The only hope of solution that I see is that the government should just sit down and have a discussion but yet because all of them republicans have money they could care less about holding down the Americans. In other words I think that if the white house could play their hand by having the democrats to sit down and have a talk about solutions then something could get fix. Is not fair that democrats get to just not report to meeting while everyone in the United Stated is suffering from such irritant shutdown. This shows that we don't really affect change because we're powerless to the extent that we don't have much to do with such shutdown.

Things I like: 

 

I love this cartoon because it makes me forget about my busy life, problems, and sadness. I also love monkeys, and learn a lot from this show.  

 

Love equals soccer; I been looking forward to play soccer at the intramurals but I haven't found out if it already started or not. And I'm hopping to get a job as a soccer coach. 

I'm not a fan of it but while watching Firefly I got into some other shows that are interesting and controversial. It's a great resource, specially because I just found some of my favorite cartoons in this app. 

 

I love YouTube because I can find latest hits, movies, episodes, and a lot more. And I can also find how to do (you name it). 

 

 Since the song Vivir Mi Vida (Live My Life)-by  Marc Anthony came out I listen to it at least once a day. This song makes me relax, think positive, and cherish my life with real facts; like the song says "why suffer if life is just like it is", "am going to enjoy life", this song has an awesome rhythm I even dance to it. 

Firefly, what?

Firefly Genre:

I think that it's really difficult to find one genre for such weird and interesting show. In my opinion the genre that goes with it will be astronomy science and cultural. Astronomy science because of what I saw from the first episode things happened in another planet, space and they are on spaceships and they were wearing astronauts suits. And cultural because of the war they where in the beginning of the episode, you could see that the opponents have different culture, and different ideas which is the problem of why they are in war. Also they show different languages like Chinese, a Geisha like in the Japanese culture, a little of Western culture, and so on. In other words the show has a little bit of everything. 

Firefly is "Sci-Fi" it's literally a show that is focus on the future (years and years away). According to the creator of Firefly they got to such future by using a lot of big creations from technology, with the help of science fiction. In Firefly as I mentioned before you could see Asian, black people, white people, and more. That's why I think that Firefly actually sticks to its own genre, which includes all times, future, present, past and I believe it was just to crazy and controversial and that's why it got removed from Fox, as a television show. 

Nerd-burger is an effective writer because she is able to grab the attention from everyone that sees the video even from non-consumers. I have never read a comic book nor was interested but now that I saw this video am willing to read a couple of them like "Sweet Tooth" just because of the passion that she presented with. She is dedicated to her comic books; she makes them very interesting just by the way she's talking about them and by her expressions. It was really awkward when she started crying at the development of her summary of her favorite comic book. The pictures at the side and the typing made the documentation video more attentive to me. The blogging genre and the genre of academic writing are similar in the sense that is has dedication, own opinion, and is knowledgeable. Blogging and genre of academic writing just keeps us all consumers attach to all, because we are been in the know of all information. The difference is that one is just more video and the other one is more literature and the similar is that both are just are interesting either watching it or reading. I believe that one can improve the other by the genre writing.

Three expectations that I have for class blogs:   

1. Please everyone do your HOMEWORK so that we can continue to            have Fridays off. Échenle ganas!  

2. Be nice by respecting each other’s ideas (Blogs)   

3. Be open minded by giving a lot of feedback

   

Underground Picture!

An underground band, artists, writers, etc are those who do not let others tell them how to be and how make their art, music, books, novels etc. To be underground or indie means that you do as you want to or you do as you this is best for you. You create your art for yourself and for those who would appreciate it as is, not changing it because someone might not like who you are or what you do. You do not modify who you are for others to like you, you are just yourself and nothing else, you express yourself.
